Connections

We are part of the family of churches known as the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec (BCOQ). Click here to link to the BCOQ website.

Locally we are associated with Toronto Baptist Ministries (formerly the Toronto Area Association of Baptist Churches). 

At the national level we are associated with Canadian Baptist Ministries . 

Beliefs

We affirm the following:

1. The sovereignty, love, and grace of God, the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgment.
2. The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
3. The value of each human being as created by God.  The universal sinfulness of humankind since the fall, which alienates all from God and subjects all to condemnation.
4. The full deity and humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, whose substitutionary sacrifice is the sole ground of redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin.
5. The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
6. The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God, the Holy Spirit, in the believer.
7. The church as set forth in the New Testament and understood historically by the Baptist community.
8. The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ, our participation in the resurrection, and the hope of eternal life.

Staff  

   John Forrester has been the pastor since October 2008. Prior to this John and his wife Betty spent three years in Turkey. And before that John was the pastoral team leader at Trinity Baptist Church in Vancouver.

    Besides their call to pastoral ministry John and Betty have a special interest in cross-cultural ministry. Betty has taught ESL classes for many years. They both love the way Christ builds bridges across all kinds of cultural gaps.

    John studied at Regent College in Vancouver, majoring in New Testament. He later completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at Fuller Seminary.  

    John & Betty have three children and five grand-children.

   Katherine Ramseyer accepted the position of pianist and choir director in September 2010. She holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Literature and Performance from the University of Western Ontario. Katherine is the founder and director of The Piano Studio in Etobicoke, Ontario.

   In addition being an accomplished classical musician Katherine also has much experience in accompanying and participating in Christian worship. Her devotion to Christ combined with her musical ability greatly enhances our experience of worship.

    Juan Lin has been our part-time church secretary since June 2006. She and her family had come to Canada a year earlier from Dalian, China where she was a metallurgical engineer.

     Juan's hobbies include travelling. And since arriving in this country she and her family have also discovered the joys of camping . Juan also teaches Mandarin both privately and in the school system.
